Name: Paper Shower
What it is: A large moist towelette and dry towelette packaged in envelopes for easy packing. Unlike most towelettes designed simply for wiping hands, it isn't high in alcohol. Rather, this contains more water, soap and skin moisturizer.
How it works: Simply wipe yourself down, as you would with a washcloth, then towel off with the dry towelette.
The good: I tried this after a 17-mile bike ride on a hot day and before a social engagement. With no time to shower, I figured this would put the thing to a real test.
I washed from the waist up, starting with my face and working down. I didn't see the need for the dry towelette until I used it. Not only did it mop up the moisture left by the other towelette, but it actually served to invigorate, like a rubdown. Best of all, at 9 by 12 inches, the towelettes are big enough to be useful. At the party that evening, I didn't seem to be repelling other guests, so it must have worked. I did feel clean. This would be highly useful on the road.
The bad: This might be considered a good thing by some people, but there is no scent. If I want to use this on a trip â€" say in an airplane restroom â€" I probably won't have deodorant handy, so a scented version might be nice.
Cost: Starting at $7.50 for a six-pack.
